The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved 18 full-time academic programmes for the Federal University of Applied Sciences Kachia (FUASK) in Kaduna State, marking a major milestone for the newly established institution.
The announcement was made by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. William Qurix, in a statement released by the Registrar, Prof. Sanusi Gambo.
These approved programmes are set to commence in the 2025/2026 academic session, covering critical fields in basic medical sciences, allied health sciences, and computing. The green light from the NUC came after a successful resource verification and re-validation exercise carried out by the commission.
Prof. Qurix described the development as a “collective triumph,” adding that it positions FUASK as a future hub for excellence in applied sciences and technology.

Prof. Qurix expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NUC for its ongoing support, stating:
