In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Musbahu K/Nasarawa, highlighted the significance of the government’s intervention:

“This gesture is a testament to the State Government’s commitment to the welfare, rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration of inmates in the command.

The Command wishes to express its profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor, for his unwavering support and partnership. This gesture will go a long way in boosting the morale of the inmates and providing them with a second chance at education and a brighter future.

The Nigerian Correctional Service, Kano State Command, remains committed to providing a conducive environment for the rehabilitation and reformation of inmates, and we are proud to have the support of the Kano State Government in this endeavor.”

This effort is part of broader reforms aimed at giving inmates opportunities to rebuild their lives and return to society better equipped for the future.
