The Government of Ireland, through the Ireland Fellows Programme (Casement Fellowship), is offering fully funded scholarships for early to mid-career Nigerian professionals to pursue a one-year master’s degree in Ireland.
This opportunity is designed to empower future leaders committed to making a difference in their communities. The programme is part of Ireland’s efforts to support sustainable development, inclusive governance, and global partnerships — particularly with countries like Nigeria.

What the Scholarship Covers
Successful applicants will receive full financial support including:
- Tuition for a one-year master’s programme
- Roundtrip airfare (from Nigeria to Ireland and back)
- Accommodation and monthly living costs
- Health insurance
- Academic and leadership development opportunities
Fields of Study
Eligible courses include areas such as:
- Human Rights and Governance
- Law
Programmes typically begin in August or September 2026 and run between 10 to 16 months.
Who Is Eligible?
To apply, you must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen and resident
- Have at least two years of relevant work experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) awarded in 2014 or later
- Not currently hold or be enrolled in a master’s or higher degree
- Be committed to SDG-related work and leadership in your country
- Select three eligible master’s programmes from the approved course directory
- Be prepared to take the IELTS exam (unless you already have a valid certificate from 2024 or later)
- Be available to start the programme in 2026/2027
You must not have applied for this fellowship more than once in the past.

Shortlisted applicants after the interview stage will need to provide proof of English proficiency, typically through IELTS.
