Peter Obi donates ₦30m to Paul University, Awka

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has made a generous ₦30 million donation to Paul University, Awka, Anambra State. This contribution, announced on his official X account, reflects his firm belief in education as a vital element for national growth and transformation.

“I had the pleasure of visiting Paul University, Awka, where I presented a cheque of ₦30 million to support the institution’s continued growth and development,” Obi shared. “This marks my third visit to the university, having previously donated ₦10 million during each of my earlier visits. My total support to the university now stands at ₦50 million. I also assured them of my ongoing support, particularly for their new School of Nursing Sciences.”

During his visit, Obi was shown around the university’s ongoing projects by the proprietor and his team, which left him impressed by the progress made. He expressed admiration for the university’s efforts, especially the launch of the new Nursing Programme.

Obi emphasized that his dedication to supporting education will not waver. He believes that investing in education is essential to unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s youth, who are key to the country’s sustainable growth.

“By investing in education, we unlock the immense potential of our people to become productive members of society and, thus, pave the way for sustainable and inclusive progress,” Obi stated.
