UNIZIK Top Graduates Receive N500K Boost from Akpoazaa Foundation

Dr. Frank Igbojindu, founder of Akpoazaa Foundation Nigeria, has awarded N500,000 to three outstanding graduates of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, in a heartwarming gesture that celebrates academic excellence.

The award presentation, which took place during the university’s 19th convocation ceremony, recognized the best graduating students from the Department of Accountancy, the Faculty of Management Sciences, and the overall best graduating student in the entire university.

Dr. Igbojindu said the award was part of his foundation’s mission to support human capital development, emphasizing that education remains the most valuable and lasting investment for the future. He also encouraged other successful individuals from Anambra State to prioritize education as a pathway to lasting impact.

“An educated person can never be a liability to society,” he said, highlighting the importance of building a knowledgeable and empowered generation.

The Akpoazaa Foundation’s awards went to:

  • Egwuchika Tochukwu Onyeze – Overall best graduating student (CGPA 4.95, Electronic and Computer Engineering) – received N250,000
  • Ozobialu Ekenedilichukwu Melvi – Best graduating student, Faculty of Management Sciences (CGPA 4.75) – received N150,000
  • Martins Obinna Kelvin – Best graduating student, Department of Accountancy (CGPA 4.51) – received N100,000

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Egwuchika Tochukwu Onyeze expressed his appreciation for the award and the vision behind it.

“I am really happy to see a foundation that recognizes education as one of the biggest and most relevant industries to invest in. It’s great to see a foundation acknowledging students who have put in the effort to excel academically. I really appreciate the CEO of Akpoazaa Foundation for this wonderful gesture, and I pray that God continues to bless him with the resources to sustain this great initiative.”

He also credited his academic success to staying focused and surrounding himself with the right influences during his time on campus.

UNIZIK’s acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu, extended the university’s gratitude to Dr. Igbojindu, describing the donation as inspiring. He called on more individuals and organizations to follow the example of the Akpoazaa Foundation in supporting education and rewarding excellence.
