In celebration of World Oral Health Day 2025, Pepsodent has taken a major step in promoting better oral hygiene habits among Nigerian children through a nationwide school campaign. The initiative aimed to educate young students on the importance of proper dental care and equip them with lifelong habits for healthier smiles.
World Oral Health Day is marked every year on March 20 to raise awareness about the vital role oral health plays in overall well-being. This year, Pepsodent marked the occasion by visiting schools across Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Rivers, and Oyo states. Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and fun activities, thousands of children learned how to take better care of their teeth.
In Lagos alone, the campaign reached 52 schools, while 4 schools were visited in Oyo, 5 in Enugu, 7 in Rivers, and another 5 in Abuja. At each location, students were guided through practical lessons on brushing techniques and the importance of brushing twice a day for at least two minutes—morning and night.
During the campaign held simultaneously at African Church Primary School, Karaole Primary School, Coker Memorial Primary School, and Ayanleye Memorial Primary School in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, Pepsodent’s Brand Manager, Mary Akindola, highlighted the importance of introducing oral hygiene education early in life.
She emphasized that good habits formed early can prevent a lifetime of dental problems. Akindola also encouraged parents and communities to take proactive steps, like cutting down on sugary foods and ensuring children go for regular dental check-ups.
“We are here today because we believe that good oral hygiene is essential for a healthy future. Unfortunately, many children and young people are at risk of developing oral health issues later in life. Our mission is to spread awareness and equip the next generation with the knowledge and habits they need to maintain excellent oral hygiene,” she said.
Pepsodent’s commitment to improving oral health goes beyond product use—it’s about empowering future generations with the right knowledge to take charge of their well-being, one smile at a time.
The Students Forum Nigeria serves as the ultimate hub for Nigerian students, fostering academic growth, social engagement, and knowledge sharing.
