The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is calling on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Borno State to apply for its 2025 Innovation Call, aimed at promoting green entrepreneurship and sustainable development. If you’re running a business in green agriculture, renewable energy, or waste management — or have plans to start one — this could be a great opportunity to grow your venture with financial and technical support.
This initiative is part of NRC’s mission to foster environmentally conscious businesses through gender-inclusive approaches. Three SMEs will be selected to receive support that enables them to launch or scale operations while contributing to job creation and environmental protection.
What’s in it for You?
Selected businesses will benefit from:
- Financial support to start or grow a green business
- Mentorship and capacity-building with industry professionals
- Networking opportunities with key players in the green economy
- Increased visibility and access to potential market connections
Who Can Apply?

- Have 1–3 years of experience in green agriculture, green energy, or waste management
- Present a clear, scalable, and innovative business model focused on sustainability and climate adaptation
- Show a business plan with job creation potential
- Be open to NRC’s monitoring and evaluation process
Note: Preference will be given to women-led or youth-focused businesses, especially those promoting inclusivity.
