The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, has announced its Post UTME and Direct Entry Admission Screening for the 2026/2027 academic session, inviting qualified candidates to apply.
UNIMED is the first specialised medical and health sciences institution in West Africa and currently ranks as the 19th best university in Nigeria according to the NUC 2021 ranking.
The screening exercise will run from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7, 2026, and will be conducted in both virtual and on-site formats, giving candidates the flexibility to choose either option.
To be eligible, UTME candidates must have scored 150 and above in the 2026 JAMB examination. Candidates who did not originally choose UNIMED as their first choice institution are also encouraged to apply, provided they are willing to change to UNIMED as their preferred institution.
All applicants must possess a minimum of five credit passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics from WAEC, NECO, or GCE, obtained in not more than two sittings. However, candidates applying for Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, and Doctor of Physiotherapy must have all five credits in a single sitting.
For Direct Entry candidates, a minimum of 10 points in A-level certificates such as Cambridge, JUPEB, or IJMB is required, while ND, HND, or degree holders must have at least a second class lower. Direct Entry applicants must also submit official academic transcripts to the Registrar’s office or via email to [email protected] before the screening date.
Only candidates who will be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026 are eligible to participate.
UNIMED is offering admission across a wide range of programmes in the following faculties: Clinical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy, Medical Rehabilitation, Nursing Science, Allied Health Sciences, Basic Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, and the School of Public Health.

To apply, candidates should visit www.unimed.edu.ng, click on Admission, then Post UTME, and proceed to make payment using a Visa or Mastercard. Note that Verve cards are not accepted. After payment, log in to the application portal using your 2026 JAMB registration number and payment transaction ID to complete your registration.
Candidates are advised to make payments only through the official UNIMED website and not to any individual or unauthorised account.
On the day of the screening, all candidates must come with a printed copy of their 2026 UTME result slip, a completed Post UTME screening slip, and for Direct Entry candidates, a Direct Entry registration slip.
