Fountain University, Osogbo, has commenced the construction of three new hostel projects, alongside an ongoing Library Extension project, ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
The infrastructure expansion is part of the university’s commitment to providing a conducive and modern learning environment for its growing student population.
The hostel projects comprise:
- 23 ensuite rooms in a suspended-floor male hostel
- 24 ensuite rooms in a suspended-floor female hostel
- A 16-room bungalow-style female hostel
This brings the total number of new hostel rooms under construction to 63.
The projects are expected to significantly boost the university’s accommodation capacity while giving students improved residential facilities.
To ensure quality delivery and timely completion, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, led a delegation of staff on an assessment visit to the various construction sites.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor and her team inspected ongoing works and assessed progress, reaffirming the university’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that meets students’ needs.
Also progressing alongside the hostel developments is the Library Extension project, aimed at strengthening the university’s academic and research infrastructure.
The expansion is expected to give students and researchers better access to resources and spaces that support teaching, learning and scholarship.
The simultaneous commencement of these projects highlights Fountain University’s proactive approach to preparing for the new academic session.
With additional accommodation and academic facilities underway, Fountain University is positioning itself to offer students a more comfortable and enabling environment to learn and thrive.
