As World Malaria Day 2025 approaches, the fight against malaria continues to gain momentum. This annual observance on April 25 recognizes global efforts to prevent, control, and ultimately eradicate malaria. In support of this mission, the Imara Leadership Initiative (ILI), through its My Health, My Value project, is launching the Malaria Young Leaders Africa Accelerator Programme. This initiative aims to equip young leaders with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to make a real impact in the fight against malaria and other health challenges across Africa.
About the Programme
The Malaria Young Leaders Africa Accelerator Programme is a three-month hybrid initiative designed to enhance leadership and management capabilities among young Africans dedicated to malaria eradication. Participants will gain access to valuable resources and opportunities, including:
- Mentorship from top global health leaders, including experts from UN agencies, WHO, ministries of health, and regional health organizations.
- E-learning and in-person training sessions from ILI and its partner institutions.
- Executive coaching and career-matching opportunities for professional growth.
- Invitations to malaria leadership training workshops, conferences, and networking events.
- Participation in high-profile malaria advocacy campaigns, such as Zero Malaria Starts With Me.
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to young Africans, including those in the diaspora, aged 15 to 35 years. Interested applicants must complete and submit an online application form before the deadline.
