NYSC DG Confirms N77,000 Allowance for Corps Members Starting March

Corps members across Nigeria will begin receiving the newly approved federal allowance of N77,000 per month starting in March 2025.

Brig. Gen. Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), confirmed this while addressing corps members in the Federal Capital Territory at the NYSC Zonal Office in Wuse Zone 3 and the Old Parade Ground in Garki. He assured them that the Ministry of Finance had finalized arrangements for disbursing the funds.

According to him, the delay in implementing the new allowance was due to the late signing of the 2025 Appropriation Bill. Now that the budget has been approved, corps members can expect their revised stipends to take effect immediately.

While commending them for their dedication to the ideals of national unity and development, Brig. Gen. Nafiu encouraged corps members to embrace the principles of the NYSC Anthem and stay committed to the values of the program. He also urged them to make use of the scheme’s communication channels to share any concerns or suggestions that could help improve the NYSC experience.

With this increase, corps members can look forward to better financial support as they contribute to national service.
