More than 100 students at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze in Anambra State have received scholarships to support their education across both degree and Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes.
Among the beneficiaries, 34 students were selected for the Federal Government’s Education Bursary Awards, each receiving N300,000 per session. In addition, 55 students were awarded full scholarships for a three-year NCE programme, sponsored by the Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Shedrack Azubuike, through the Nwabugo Empowerment Foundation.
Seven other students at the college also benefitted from a generous scholarship scheme by Chief Chukwuebuka Onunkwo, CEO of Seahorse Lubricants. His N10 million initiative is aimed at supporting 50 indigent students across Anambra State, with each recipient getting N200,000.
These efforts not only ease the financial burden on students and their families but also serve as a strong encouragement for academic excellence and community development.
