The Federal University of Technology, Minna officially welcomed its newest set of students during its 37th matriculation ceremony, held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the main campus in Gidan Kwano.
In an address delivered on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Engr. Prof. Abdullahi Mohammed, the new students were urged to stay grounded in discipline, integrity, and a strong commitment to personal growth throughout their academic journey.
“At FUT Minna, your academic journey will be one of growth, discovery, and transformation,” the VC said.

He emphasized the importance of character and warned against behaviors such as exam malpractice, cultism, drug abuse, and other forms of misconduct, all of which are clearly addressed in the Students’ Handbook.
Highlighting the institution’s modern learning environment, Professor Kuta noted that the university is equipped with well-furnished libraries, advanced laboratories, digital platforms, and workshops—all aimed at supporting students’ academic and career development. He encouraged the freshers to take full advantage of these resources.
On matters of appearance and safety, students were reminded to dress decently, adhere to the university’s dress code, and always carry their student ID cards. He stressed that campus security is a shared responsibility and urged students to be alert and report anything suspicious to the appropriate authorities.

He also encouraged students to prioritize their health and well-being. “The University Health Services (UHS) is available to meet your medical needs—please avoid self-medication. We also encourage you to participate in sports and extracurricular activities as they contribute significantly to your physical health, teamwork, and leadership skills,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor further charged the students to embrace hard work and remain consistent in their pursuit of excellence. “There are no shortcuts to success,” he added.
Wrapping up his message, Professor Kuta commended the students for choosing FUT Minna, calling it a bold and smart decision that will shape their future.
“I encourage you to make the most of your time here and strive to leave a legacy of excellence. Thank you for being part of this memorable event,” he said.
