Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved automatic postgraduate scholarships for the best graduating students from the state’s four universities, reinforcing his administration’s focus on academic excellence and youth development.
The announcement came through the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board. Its Executive Secretary, Dr. Godfrey Enita, explained that the initiative reflects the Governor’s strong commitment to empowering young people under the M.O.R.E. Agenda, especially in human capital development.
The automatic scholarship will be awarded annually to the best graduating student from each of the following universities: Delta State University, Abraka; Southern Delta University, Ozoro; University of Delta, Agbor; and Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
Dr. Enita stated that each recipient will receive full support to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. programmes in accredited Nigerian universities. He noted that beneficiaries will still complete the required scholarship procedures and documentation to access their awards.
He added that the initiative is designed to help the state nurture a skilled and globally competitive youth population capable of driving long-term development.
“The Board remains committed to creating opportunities that uplift our students and encourage academic distinction,” Enita assured.
The new policy is expected to inspire students across the state-owned institutions to push for higher academic achievements while strengthening Delta State’s standing as a growing hub for quality education.

The Students Forum Nigeria serves as the ultimate hub for Nigerian students, fostering academic growth, social engagement, and knowledge sharing.
