The management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has announced the dissolution of the institution’s 2023/2024 Students’ Union Executive Council.
This decision was communicated through a press release on Tuesday by the institution’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola. The statement revealed that the dissolution was finalized during an emergency management meeting held on January 14, 2025.
According to the statement, the tenure of the current Students’ Union Executives officially ended with the commencement of the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.
“The dissolution was as a result of the expiration of their tenure by effluxion of time, being currently in the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic session,” the statement read.
It further emphasized that the 2023/2024 Student Union Executives are no longer recognized by the institution and advised them to cease acting in any official capacity.
“Consequently, the 2023/2024 Union Executives is hereby dissolved. Hence, they should stop parading themselves as Students’ Union Executives of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta,” the statement added.
This move signals the end of the current union’s administration and clears the way for a new set of leaders to emerge in subsequent elections.
