The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the commencement of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration. Originally set to begin on January 31, the process will now start on Monday, February 3.
Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s public communication advisor, confirmed this in a statement on Friday, explaining that the adjustment was necessary to implement key updates to the registration system.
“These adjustments came in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the board by the Council for Legal Education.
“Additionally, the board discovered that some computer-based test centres had used deceptive facilities to be approved, prompting the need for further scrutiny and corrections by disapproving such centres.
“The board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience,” the statement read.
JAMB assured candidates that the additional time will be used to streamline the registration process and ensure all necessary corrections are in place for a seamless experience.
