Eight suspected cultists have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with recent cult-related killings around Yaba College of Technology.
According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the arrests were made on April 29, 2025, during an intelligence-driven operation.
The suspects include Adeyemo Abdulsamad (also known as Cloud), Afeez Enitan, Ayomide Daniel, Olamilekan Adeagbo (aka Skinny), Mayor Samson, Basit Ishola, Quadri Sikiru, and Mariam Salihu.
During the operation, police recovered a Beretta pistol, four rounds of 9mm ammunition, a cartridge, two battle axes, and two cutlasses.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects’ level of involvement in cult activities in and around the institution.
“Members of the public are assured that the suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, while commending the swift response and excellent work of the Command’s tactical teams and Eko Strike Force, who carried out the operation, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police for appropriate action,” the statement read.
