Pan-Atlantic University Opens Applications for Fully Funded Mastercard Foundation Scholarship

Pan-Atlantic University has announced the commencement of applications for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, a fully funded scholarship initiative created to support outstanding young Africans facing financial or socio-economic challenges.

The programme is designed to provide access to quality education, leadership training, and career development opportunities for students across Africa. Special attention is given to young women, refugees and displaced persons, as well as young people living with disabilities.

As the first Nigerian university to partner with the Mastercard Foundation, Pan-Atlantic University aims to train 650 scholars within ten years. So far, 60 students have been admitted into the first cohort of the programme.

According to the university, the current cohort consists of 80% young women, 20% young men, 6.7% persons living with disabilities, and 3.3% refugees and displaced youths.

The institution plans to admit an additional 70 scholars in the next application cycle as part of its commitment to raising ethical and service-driven leaders across Africa.

Who Can Apply?

  • Applicants are expected to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, financial need, and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.
  • Candidates must also have at least five credits in WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. In addition, applicants must score a minimum of 220 in the UTME examination.
  • The programme particularly encourages applications from young women interested in STEM programmes, internally displaced youths, and persons living with disabilities. However, other qualified applicants are also eligible to apply.

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, accommodation, living expenses, mentorship opportunities, leadership development, internship placements, career support, and networking opportunities.

How to Apply

Applicants who are yet to receive their UTME results are expected to complete the interest form to begin the screening process.

Candidates who meet the UTME requirement can then proceed to complete the official online application form with their academic and personal details alongside the required documents.
