UNILORIN Releases 2026/2027 Academic Calendar, Session Begins October 5

The University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, has released its academic calendar for the 2026/2027 session.

According to the calendar, the new academic session commences on Monday, October 5, 2026, for both new and returning students.

Registration for new and returning students will run from Monday, October 5, to Friday, October 16, 2026.

Late registration for both categories of students is scheduled to hold from Monday, October 19, to Friday, October 23, 2026.

Certificate clearance for penultimate level students will take place between Tuesday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 22, 2026.

Lectures for the Harmattan Semester are expected to begin on Monday, October 19, 2026.

The Faculty Board will consider the list of registered students, both returning and freshers, from Monday, November 9, to Friday, November 13, 2026.

This will be followed by the Business Committee of Senate’s review of the registered students list, scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, to Thursday, November 19, 2026.

The academic calendar also outlines the general structure for the session.

This includes two weeks of registration, one week of late registration, and 15 weeks of instruction for the Harmattan Semester.

It also provides for one week of lecture free period for uploading continuous assessment results, followed by four weeks of Harmattan Semester examinations and two weeks of marking and computation of results.

The Rain Semester will similarly run for 15 weeks of instruction, followed by a lecture free week, four weeks of examinations and two weeks of results marking and computation.

The session is expected to close with a three week end of session break.

Meanwhile, UNILORIN’s 2026/2027 admission exercise is set to begin rolling out on September 21.

Prospective students are advised to begin checking their JAMB CAPS from that date to know their admission status.
