Established in 1891, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) was initially tasked with key responsibilities such as revenue collection, financial accountability, and combatting smuggling. Over the years, however, its role has evolved significantly. Today, trade facilitation stands at the core of its mission, with the government increasingly recognizing Customs as a vital component of economic policy.
In this modern era, NCS holds a pivotal position in the global supply chain, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and services across international borders.
