Eni’s subsidiary, Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited (NAE), in partnership with NNPC Limited and NAE PSC, has awarded 30 scholarships to Nigerian graduates for postgraduate studies in both local and international universities under the 2024/2025 Scholarship Awards Scheme.
Out of the 30 recipients, 10 will pursue their studies in the United Kingdom and Canada, while the remaining 20 will continue their postgraduate education in Nigerian universities. The scholarships cover fields like Engineering, Geosciences, Petroleum and Environmental Technology, Renewable Energy, and Petroleum Law.
The award ceremony, held in Abuja, was a proud moment for both NAE and the recipients. Fabrizio Bolondi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of NAE, congratulated the awardees and highlighted the significance of the scholarship in shaping their future careers. “The award ceremony highlights our continuous commitment to the future of education, innovation, and progress in Nigeria, and a moment of pride for the company to recognize the incredible talent and dedication of the scholars,” he said. He also encouraged the students to stay focused on their studies to fully benefit from the opportunity.
Since its inception in 2007, the postgraduate scholarship scheme has been part of NAE PSC’s effort to bridge the skills gap in critical fields related to deep offshore oil and gas operations in Nigeria. To date, 320 graduates have benefited from the program.
Beyond education, Eni, through NAE, has been actively involved in various sustainability initiatives across Nigeria. These include providing 22 integrated water schemes for domestic and irrigation use in the North-East and Abuja, in collaboration with the FAO. Additionally, they have donated medical equipment to several hospitals and supported the establishment of a Research and Innovation Laboratory at the University of Lagos.
