The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 AIG Fellowship Programme, a prestigious opportunity designed for exceptional senior public servants who are driving impactful change in Africa’s public sector.

This fellowship supports individuals who have demonstrated strong leadership, delivered measurable public service reforms, and are actively shaping national policy in critical sectors. The programme offers selected fellows a platform to deepen their understanding of key public policy challenges and enhance their strategic influence.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the AIG Fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Leadership Role: Must currently hold a leadership position such as Director General or Chief Executive Officer within the public service.

  • Years of Service: Should have at least six years remaining before mandatory retirement.

  • Proven Impact: Must show measurable improvements in public service delivery within the last five years, with evidence of reforms or successful initiatives.

  • Sector Focus: Must be actively leading strategic initiatives in at least one of these sectors: Health, Education, Agriculture, Finance, Energy, Justice, Defence, or Security.

  • Professional Background:

    • Hold at least a master’s degree or an equivalent professional qualification.
    • Have proof of continuous professional development in the past three years.
  • High Ethical Standards: Must have a clean service record, no pending disciplinary actions, and must pass a security clearance.

  • Official Endorsement: Application must be supported by a senior public sector leader such as a Minister, Governor, or Head of the Civil Service.
