Professor Amina Mustapha, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Development at Bayero University, Kano, has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a member of the Governing Council of Federal University Birnin Kebbi.
The appointment was conveyed through a letter from the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Maruf Alausa.
It took effect from May 18, 2026.
The process was facilitated by the Minister of State for Education, Professor Suwaiba Said Ahmad.
Professor Mustapha holds a special place in BUK’s history as the institution’s first female Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
Her new appointment to the FUBK Governing Council adds to her growing profile as one of the most accomplished female academics in Nigeria’s university system.
