Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has gifted N7 million, three laptops and postgraduate scholarships to three outstanding medical students of Bayero University Kano.
Radda presented the rewards to the beneficiaries during a meeting at the Government House.
The beneficiaries are Dr Ismail Abubakar Muhammad, Dr Abba Bashir and Dr Fatima Tukur Sada.
They distinguished themselves through exceptional performances at the university’s College of Health Sciences.
Muhammad emerged as the Best Student in Biochemistry, Best Student in Medicine and Surgery and Overall Best Student.
He received N3 million, a new Lenovo laptop and sponsorship for postgraduate training in Nuclear Medicine.
Bashir emerged as the Best Student in Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology and the Second Overall Best Student.
He received N2 million, a Lenovo laptop and postgraduate training sponsorship in Nuclear Medicine.
Sada, the Best Student in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, also received N2 million, a Lenovo laptop and sponsorship for postgraduate training in Nuclear Medicine.
The governor said the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to promoting academic excellence and youth development.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to remain committed to excellence, professional growth and service to humanity.
The governor assured that his administration would continue to support outstanding students and invest in skilled professionals for the development of Katsina State and Nigeria.
