The Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has welcomed 493 newly admitted part-time degree and top-up students while delivering a firm warning against cultism, cybercrime, drug abuse, and other forms of misconduct on campus.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Clement Adebooye, represented by his Deputy, Professor Kehinde Adetunji, addressed the new students at the University Auditorium, charging them to remain focused and disciplined in their pursuit of academic excellence.
“Your admission is only the beginning. What becomes of your future will depend largely on your discipline, commitment, hard work and determination,” he said.
Adetunji made it clear that the university operates a strict zero-tolerance policy on all forms of anti-social behaviour.
“Cultism, examination malpractice, cybercrime, drug abuse, sexual harassment, violence, hooliganism, certificate fraud and every other act capable of undermining the integrity of this University have no place in our academic community,” he warned.
Congratulating the new intake, he described their admission as a direct reward for perseverance and hard work.
“Today, we are delighted to receive 493 newly admitted students into the Osun State University family. Your admission into Osun State University is not a matter of chance; it is the reward for your determination, resilience and unwavering desire for self-improvement,” Adetunji said.
In a significant development for the university’s digital transformation, Adetunji also announced the successful integration of all part-time students into UNIOSUN’s Result Processing Management System (RPMS).
He said part-time students can now access individual portals to register courses, check semester results, monitor academic progress, and carry out other academic activities online, just like their counterparts in regular degree programmes.
