The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has announced limited vacancies in some programmes for 2026/2027 UTME applicants who did not meet the cut off marks for their preferred courses.
This applies to candidates who participated in the university’s Post UTME screening exercise but were unsuccessful in their first choice programme.
According to UNILAG, the following courses have limited vacancies available for the supplementary exercise.
Under the Faculty of Arts, the affected programmes are French, Russian, Linguistics/Igbo, Linguistics/Yoruba, Christian Religious Studies and Islamic Religious Studies.
The Faculty of Education has the highest number of available slots, spanning Adult Education, Education Islamic Religious Studies, Education Igbo, Education Early Childhood, Education Yoruba, Education French, Education History, Education Christian Religious Studies, Education Geography, Health Education, Human Kinetics, Education Biology, Education Chemistry, Education Home Economics, Education Integrated Science, Education Mathematics, Education Physics, Education Technology and Special Education.
Under the Faculty of Life Sciences, vacancies exist in Botany, Fisheries and Zoology.
The Faculty of Physical and Earth Science has an opening in Physics.
The Faculty of Social Sciences has vacancies in Geography, Meteorology and Climate Science, and Social Standards.
UNILAG clarified that courses not listed have already been fully subscribed.
Interested candidates who wish to change to any of the listed programmes can apply through the university’s change of course application portal at no cost.
To apply, eligible candidates should log on to changeprgm.unilag.edu.ng and click on Prospective Student Login.
Applicants should then enter their UTME Registration Number and click the login button to proceed.
Once logged in, candidates are advised to carefully read the information displayed before closing the pop up notification and selecting the appropriate option to continue.
Applicants should follow the instructions on the portal to select their preferred programme, confirm eligibility and complete the application process.
Candidates are urged to review all entered information carefully before submitting and to retain their application details.
UNILAG advised candidates to ensure they meet the prescribed JAMB and O’Level requirements for their intended programmes before applying.
The university clarified that submitting an application does not guarantee admission, as this will depend on its approved admission criteria and space availability.
Candidates who are successfully offered admission through the process will be required to effect a change of course with JAMB to ensure their admission letters reflect the approved programme.
UNILAG noted that the minimum Post UTME score required for eligibility is 12.
It warned that submitting more than one application will lead to disqualification.
The application portal is open and will close on Friday, September 25, 2026.
