A PLASU student abducted by gunmen in Bokkos, Plateau State, has regained her freedom.
She is Favour Ayuba, a 100-level student of Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos.
She was taken on Saturday night at an off-campus student residential area in Bokkos Local Government Area. Another person was shot and injured during the attack.
The university’s Acting Public Relations Officer, Masara Kim, confirmed her release. He said she was abandoned by her captors and later recovered.
“She was abandoned by her captors after the university, in collaboration with a joint security team, launched an operation that forced them to flee on sighting the advancing team,” Kim said.
He added that she was taken to a hospital for medical examination.
According to him, the university is working with security agencies to keep students and staff safe within and around the institution.
