The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disbursed over N397 million as transport allowance to 1,909 officials assigned to monitor this year’s Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), which will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
During a recent meeting focused on the board’s preparation for the mock exam and the main UTME, JAMB’s Director of Finance, Mufutau Bello, confirmed the payments and emphasized the importance of the monitoring exercise.
He said:
“Much is at stake, including the dignity of our processes, the tertiary education system, and substantial financial resources—over N397,030,900 has been paid as transport allowances to the 1,909 officials travelling for the mock exercise scheduled for the 10th April 2025.
This amount represents only the initial phase, accounting for one-third of the total number of officials involved.”
This move reflects JAMB’s continued effort to ensure smooth and transparent exam procedures through adequate preparation and logistics for its monitoring teams.
