Francis Oluwasegun Joseph, a graduate of the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), has emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student of the university with a perfect 5.00 CGPA.
His feat makes him the first student in UNILORIN’s history to graduate with a perfect 5.0 CGPA.
This also makes UNILORIN the second federal university in Nigeria to produce a graduate with a perfect CGPA score.
From his first year to his final year, Francis reportedly never scored below an A in any course, maintaining a flawless academic record throughout his time in the university.
His achievement has been widely celebrated, with many describing it as one for the history books, given that UNILORIN has existed for close to five decades without recording a perfect CGPA until now.
Francis emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Maintaining straight A’s throughout an undergraduate programme is widely regarded as one of the most difficult academic feats, requiring discipline, sacrifice and sustained focus over several years.
