Babcock University has once again made a mark in legal education, as nine of its Law graduates earned First Class Honours in the November 2024 Bar Part II Final Examination conducted by the Nigerian Law School. The results, recently released by the Council of Legal Education, reflect the university’s consistent track record of excellence.
This latest achievement reinforces Babcock’s commitment to academic quality and the strength of its legal training. It’s a testament to the hard work of the students and the dedication of the faculty within the School of Law and Security Studies.
Over the years, Babcock University has steadily produced outstanding results at the Nigerian Law School. In 2013, Oladeinbo Gilbert was named Best Student in Law in Practice. The university saw two First Class graduates in 2016, with Adonu Geoffrey emerging as the Best Overall Male Student and 2nd Best Overall Candidate. Two more First Class honours followed in 2017.
In 2019, the university recorded a milestone with ten First Class graduates, led by Abiru Mayowa, who was the Overall Best Student and winner of 13 academic prizes. The trend continued in 2022 with six First Class graduates, and in 2023, Babcock hit a new high with twenty students achieving First Class status. That year, Echebiri Mary-Ann Goodness won the 3rd Prize in Civil Litigation, while Labisi Oluwatamiloreayo Elizabeth was ranked 3rd Best in Professional Ethics.
“These continued successes are a reflection of our commitment to academic excellence and our goal of nurturing legal professionals who will lead with integrity, competence, and courage,” said Prof. Dorcas Odunaike, Dean of the School of Law and Security Studies.
“We are proud of our students and confident they will contribute meaningfully to the legal profession both nationally and globally. Babcock University remains steadfast in its mission to deliver quality education and produce graduates who stand out in all spheres of life.”
With this latest achievement, Babcock University continues to affirm its position as one of Nigeria’s top institutions for legal education.
