Applications are now open for the Global Youth MIDORI (GYM) 2025 International Training Programme, an initiative by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) and the AEON Environmental Foundation.
This free online programme, happening from August 4–6, 2025, is designed to empower university students from around the world with the skills, knowledge, and global platform to address pressing environmental issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss.
What You Should Know About GYM 2025
The Global Youth MIDORI platform is more than just a training—it’s a gateway to international recognition and real-world impact. Through this three-day intensive programme, participants will:
- Engage in expert-led sessions focused on sustainability and environmental leadership.
- Connect with like-minded youth across the globe.
- Participate in a speech contest, where four winners will be selected.
The top two winners will earn a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the United Nations University delegation at the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the programme, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme as of May 1, 2025.
- Be fluent in English and able to actively contribute to discussions.
- Have previous involvement in climate action or efforts to combat biodiversity loss.
