The pioneer Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA), Prof. Fatiu Arogundade, has been called upon to prioritise talent recognition and staff development as he settles into his new role.
The charge was delivered at a reception organised in his honour in Abeokuta, which brought together dignitaries, academics, and professionals from institutions across Nigeria.
Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Babatunde Salako, advised the VC to invest consistently in the growth of staff members across academic, managerial, financial, and technological areas.
He urged Prof. Arogundade to create opportunities and allocate resources for staff to attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences that would sharpen their skills and expand their professional horizons.
In his remarks, Mr. Olufemi Adewole commended all who honoured the event with their presence and described Prof. Arogundade as a mentor and a man of great energy, well deserving of the appointment.
