The University of Toronto is inviting applications for the 2027 Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship, one of Canada’s most competitive scholarship opportunities for international students. The scholarship is designed for outstanding students who have shown strong academic performance, creativity, leadership potential and a desire to make a positive impact in their communities. Successful applicants will study at the University of Toronto in Canada from September 2027.

Scholarship Benefits

The Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship covers:

• Full tuition fees
• Books
• Incidental fees
• Full residence support for four years

The scholarship is only available for first-entry undergraduate programmes at the University of Toronto.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the University of Toronto Pearson Scholarship 2027, applicants must:

• Be an international student who requires a Canadian study permit
• Be in their final year of senior secondary school in 2026/2027, or have graduated no earlier than June 2026
• Be ready to begin undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto in September 2027

Students who are already attending a post-secondary institution are not eligible.

Also, students who will begin post-secondary studies in January 2027 at the University of Toronto or another institution cannot apply for this scholarship.

Important Deadlines

Applicants and schools should take note of the following deadlines:

• School nomination deadline: October 9, 2026
• Student OUAC admission application deadline: October 16, 2026
• Scholarship application and document submission deadline: November 6, 2026

How to Apply

To become a Pearson Scholar, you must first be nominated by your school. You must also apply for undergraduate admission to the University of Toronto.

Here is the application process:

1. Confirm Your Eligibility

Before applying, make sure you meet all the requirements for the scholarship. You must be an international student, be in your final year of secondary school or have recently graduated, and be ready to start studies at U of T in September 2027.

2. Get Nominated by Your School

Speak with your guidance counsellor, principal or head of school to confirm if your school can nominate students for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship.

Schools that have participated before will receive access to the nomination form from July 6, 2026.

If your school has not participated before, the school must apply to join the programme by noon EST on October 9, 2026.

3. Apply to the University of Toronto

You must apply to at least one undergraduate programme at the University of Toronto to be considered for the scholarship.

The admission application deadline for students who want to be considered for the Pearson Scholarship is October 16, 2026.

Applicants may apply to up to three areas of study, but if awarded, the scholarship will only apply to the applicant’s top-choice programme at the time scholarship decisions are made.

4. Submit the Pearson Scholarship Application

After your school nominates you, you will receive a private link to complete the Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarship application.

You can complete the scholarship form after submitting your University of Toronto admission application.

The final deadline to submit the Pearson Scholarship application and all required documents is November 6, 2026.
