Nasarawa Governor Warns Employers Against Corps Rejection

The Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has warned Employers in the State not to reject any Corps Member posted to serve in their establishments.
He said Corps Members’ posting is a clarion call to render selfless services to residents of the State in line with the posting policy of NYSC. He stated this today through the Acting Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, who represented him at the Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Orientation Exercise held at Nasarawa State Orientation Camp in Magaji Dan-Yamusa, Keffi.
The Governor advised the Corps Members to contribute meaningfully to the development of the State, especially the grassroots.
“Your posting is a clarion call to render selfless service to the people of the State.
I appeal to Corps Employers not to reject Corps Members posted to their establishments. Rejecting Corps Members puts a snag on their zeal to serve”, the Governor said.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General YD Ahmed advised the Corps Members not to endanger themselves by undermining their personal security.
He said Management has put everything in place to ensure their welfare and security, adding that, they should avoid night journeys and to utilize the designated motor parks when traveling.
He admonished them to be dedicated in their places of primary assignment and be committed to Community Development Service.
The NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, Mrs Salamatu Muhammad in her farewell address urged the Corps Members to serve as good ambassadors of their families and NYSC.
She admonished the Corps Members to engage in post-camp Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development training, collaborate with others and leave positive legacies of service.
She also advised them to use the social media responsibly to foster national unity, seek clarification on NYSC matters and avoid spreading wrong information.
