In a heartwarming recognition of academic brilliance, six outstanding graduates of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, were awarded a total of ₦3 million for their exceptional performance during the 2023/2024 academic session.
Each student received ₦500,000 courtesy of Professor Banji Oyelaran-Oyeyinka, the Convocation Lecturer and Senior Special Adviser on Industrialization to the President of the African Development Bank. The gesture was made in honour of their dedication and high academic achievements.
Leading the pack was Adeduntan Badirat from the Science Laboratory Technology department, who emerged as the overall best graduating student with an impressive CGPA of 4.86.

While delivering his convocation lecture titled “Can Nigeria Thrive in Times of Tumultuous and Rapid Technological Changes?” Professor Oyelaran-Oyeyinka emphasized the urgent need for Nigeria to prioritize technological advancement.
According to him, “The Federal Government should prioritize development of technological strength of Nigerians.”
His remarks underscored a call to action for increased investment in innovation, as he challenged stakeholders to focus on building a more tech-driven future for the country.
