Zoe Schools, Ogbomoso, has made a remarkable stride in education by being one of just four schools in Oyo State approved by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to host the first-ever Computer-Based WASSCE (CBWASSCE). Other schools on the list include Sharon Rose in Saki, The Lord’s School in Oyo, and The Concord School in Ibadan.
Following a thorough accreditation exercise led by the WAEC Southwest Regional Co-ordinator, Zoe Schools emerged as the only approved CBT centre in the Ogbomoso zone. This recognition not only highlights the school’s long-standing commitment to academic excellence but also positions Ogbomoso as a forward-looking educational hub.
The upcoming WAEC exam, scheduled to begin on April 24, 2025, will be conducted using the computer-based test format across the four selected centres. Zoe Schools’ early adoption of CBT, having implemented it internally for nearly eight years, was a major factor in securing this approval.
In a congratulatory message, the Permanent Secretary and Inspector General of Education, Rev. Dr. Dele Oyedokun, praised the milestone:
“It is heartwarming that a school in the Ogbomoso Zone could meet up with the rigorous accreditation exercise.”

Rev. Niyi Adebayo, Director of Zoe Schools, expressed deep gratitude to God, the parents, staff, and the management team, describing the achievement as the product of collective effort and vision. In preparation for the exams, all WAEC candidates have been lodged in the school hostel from April 14 to June 30 for intensive coaching, group sessions, and CBT-focused training. Additional professionals have also been brought in to support Zoe’s teaching team.
