The University of Warwick, one of the UK’s top institutions, is giving Nigerian students the opportunity to study abroad through its WMG Africa Scholarship. This prestigious award offers up to £20,000 (approximately ₦42 million) in tuition support for full-time Master’s programmes at Warwick’s WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group) department.
The scholarship covers a range of high-demand fields including Engineering, Business, Technology, Innovation, and Healthcare. It aims to attract future leaders from West Africa who are eager to gain world-class education combined with hands-on, industry-relevant experience.
The announcement comes after a recent visit to Nigeria and Ghana by Dr. Anthony Olomolaiye, a British-Nigerian academic at the University of Warwick. During his trip, Dr. Olomolaiye hosted a WMG Information Day in Lagos and also engaged with prospective students and alumni during QS education fairs held in Abuja and Lagos.
“Our goal is to support future leaders from West Africa with world-class education and practical, industry-ready experience,” said Dr. Olomolaiye.
Some of the eligible MSc programmes include Cyber Security, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Engineering Business Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Healthcare Operational Management.
In addition to the WMG Africa Scholarship, students can also apply for the WMG Excellence Scholarship, which provides up to £15,000 in tuition discounts—further easing the financial burden for international students.
This initiative underscores Warwick’s commitment to empowering West African students with the tools they need to succeed in today’s competitive global landscape.
The Students Forum Nigeria serves as the ultimate hub for Nigerian students, fostering academic growth, social engagement, and knowledge sharing.
