The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is expected to release the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates today, August 4, 2026.
Once the results are officially out, here is everything you need to check yours without stress.
To access your result online, you will need your 10-digit examination number, a valid WAEC e-PIN and its serial number, and an internet-enabled device. The e-PIN costs N5,000 and can be purchased directly on the WAEC portal by selecting the “Buy WAEC Result Checker” option, choosing your examination type, and completing the payment. Your serial number and PIN will be issued immediately after payment.
Scratch cards purchased in previous years remain valid and can be used up to five times for a single candidate’s examination number. A separate card is required for each candidate.
Once results are live, visit the official WAEC result portal at waecdirect.org, enter your 10-digit examination number, select 2026 as the examination year, choose your examination type, enter your e-PIN and serial number, then click Submit to view your result.
Candidates can also download the WAEC Result Checker app from the Google Play Store, enter their examination details and e-PIN information, and access or download their results directly from the application.
For those without internet access, send an SMS in this format: WAEC*Examination Number*PIN*Examination Year to 32327, using an MTN, Glo, or Airtel line. Standard SMS charges apply.
On grading, WAEC results range from A1 to F9. A1, B2, and B3 indicate distinction and merit, while C4, C5, and C6 are credit passes. D7 and E8 are ordinary passes below credit level, and F9 indicates a fail.
For admission into most Nigerian universities, candidates must obtain at least five credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, with C6 as the minimum acceptable credit grade.
Candidates are strongly advised to check results only through official WAEC channels. Ignore any individual or website promising to provide results or offer upgrades for a fee.
