Fifty officers have successfully completed Junior Course 21 at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, following a rigorous three-month training programme designed to boost leadership and management skills within the service.

The graduation ceremony took place on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the College’s Ahmad Makarfi Hall, after a regimental dinner held earlier on April 30. The event marks another step in strengthening the capacity of middle-level officers across various commands and formations nationwide.

Representing the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, at both events was Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG) Suleiman Chiroma, who oversees the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). He praised the officers for their dedication and resilience throughout the course.

“The college has equipped you with the requisite knowledge for higher staff and command responsibilities,” DCG Chiroma said. “Your value to the service and your fatherland has been greatly enhanced, and you are now better prepared to contribute meaningfully to the attainment of our strategic objectives.”

The College Commandant, Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Oluyomi Adebakin, also addressed the graduates, encouraging them to uphold the high standards of the service.

“The Nigeria Customs Service has invested significantly in your development. You must make the most of this opportunity. The college maintains zero tolerance for indiscipline and mediocrity will not be celebrated,” she stated.

Certificates and the Passed Junior Staff Course (PJSC) qualifications were awarded to the officers at the ceremony. Many graduates expressed appreciation for the training, highlighting how it had sharpened their leadership and operational skills.

These newly trained officers are now expected to take on key roles in advancing the Nigeria Customs Service’s mission across the country.
