Unilorin Student Breaks Guinness World Record with 31-Hour Math Marathon

In a moment of sheer brilliance and determination, Kazeem Sanusi, a 400-level Mathematics student at the University of Ilorin, has made history by setting a new Guinness World Record for the Longest Mathematics Lesson. The incredible lesson lasted 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 26 hours of continuous teaching.

The event, which took place in the presence of Guinness World Records officials, drew a crowd of enthusiastic supporters. Leading the audience were top members of the university community, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services) Prof. Adegboyega Fawole; Registrar Mr. Mansur Alfanla; Dean of Physical Sciences Prof. Abdullahi Alafara Baba; Acting Dean of Student Affairs Alex Akanmu; and Student Union President Comrade Victor Agezeh.

Kazeem is currently awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Egbewole, shared his excitement and pride in the achievement, saying:
“We are immensely proud of the feat achieved by Kazeem, and we will continue to encourage others to find their passion and pursue it.”

He also expressed optimism that the University’s supportive environment will continue to inspire students to aim higher, break records, and make their mark globally.
