16-Year-Old Anthony Toruka Shines in 2025 UTME with Jaw-Dropping 364

At just 16 years old, Anthony Chinecherem Toruka has made headlines with his remarkable performance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The SS3 student of St. Augustine College, New Karu, Nasarawa State, scored a stunning 364 out of 400, making him the highest-scoring student from Delta State in the history of JAMB.

Anthony took the exam on April 26, 2025, at the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Centenary Resource CBT Centre in Maitama, Abuja. According to the results released by JAMB, he scored:

  • Use of English – 76
  • Mathematics – 94
  • Chemistry – 98
  • Physics – 96

His total score not only sets a record in Delta State but also marks the highest UTME score ever achieved by a student of St. Augustine College.

Anthony’s academic journey has been nothing short of outstanding. Since SS1, he has consistently topped his class and earned straight A’s across all subjects. In 2022, he sat for the GCE while still in SS1—a privilege extended only to the most brilliant students. He passed with flying colours: four A’s and four B’s.

In December 2024, Anthony took the SAT and scored 1510 out of 1600, becoming the only student in his class to sit for the international exam.

Earlier in 2024, while still in SS2, he won first place in Nasarawa State at the IQ Mathematics and English Language competition. In February 2025, he scored 87 out of 100 in the national version of the same competition, placing 4th nationwide and 1st in all northern states, including the FCT.

“He is a rare gem; a gift to St. Augustine College, a gift to his parents, and a gift to his generation,” a school source shared.

Anthony hails from Illah in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. With a perfect cumulative GPA of 5.0, he has become a symbol of academic excellence. In recognition of his achievements, the principal of St. Augustine College branded him a “Special Student” and reportedly placed him on special Sunday meals as a token of honour.
