The wait is finally over. JAMB has officially announced the minimum cut-off marks for admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session. The announcement was made at the JAMB Policy Meeting held on Monday, May 11, 2026, which was attended by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, vice-chancellors, rectors, registrars of higher institutions, and other key stakeholders.
The approved minimum cut-off marks are as follows:
Universities: 150
Colleges of Nursing: 150
Polytechnics: 100
Colleges of Education and Agriculture (non-Engineering courses): No UTME score required
It is important to note that these are the minimum scores set by JAMB. Individual institutions are free to set their own cut-off marks above these figures based on course demand and available spaces, but no institution is permitted to admit any candidate below the minimum scores listed above.
Also worth noting is that candidates seeking admission into NCE programmes and non-engineering Agriculture courses are now fully exempted from sitting the UTME, following the policy change announced earlier at the same meeting by the Minister of Education.
With the cut-off marks now officially in place, public tertiary institutions are expected to begin announcing their Post-UTME form sales and screening dates in the coming weeks. Candidates are advised to stay alert and monitor announcements from their institutions of choice.
If you are waiting for Post-UTME form announcements, drop the name of your institution and course in the comment section below and we will notify you as soon as the form is released.
