Wema Bank in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has introduced a capacity-building program aimed at supporting and strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.
The initiative is designed to equip up to 800,000 entrepreneurs with essential skills to grow and sustain their businesses in a fast-evolving economy. The program offers a unique combination of training, mentorship, and access to both markets and finance — all delivered virtually to ensure nationwide participation.
Participants will receive hands-on training in key areas such as digital marketing, business strategy, and how to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to drive business growth. In addition to this, they will benefit from direct mentorship by experienced business leaders and professionals, both locally and internationally, providing valuable insights and guidance.
What sets this program apart is its long-term focus. Beyond training, participants will gain access to practical tools, funding opportunities, and market linkages to help them scale and remain competitive. By building the capacity of MSMEs, this initiative contributes to job creation, poverty reduction, and Nigeria’s broader economic development goals.
